Basic Job Description:
|
Responsible for promoting company products to existing and potential customers. To build and develop business relationships. Ensuring company and personal targets and margins are met.
Maximise sales to existing customers and develop new business within a pre-determined territory using own initiative or from leads supplied. Ensure correct information is given in respect ofproducts, prices and delivery times. Errors have an impact on company profitability. Report to senior management as required.

Salary range £20 - 25k dependent on experience

The sales territory to be covered will be in the South West of England

Qualifications & Experience:
|
Relevant field sales experience and abilities. Concise oral and written communication skills. Computer literate. Well presented and polite. Flexible approach to travel. To work the necessary hours to suit the needs of the business. A desire to succeed. Self motivated. Good geographical knowledge. Clean driving licence. A working knowledge of the timber industry is useful but not essential.

Other Notes:
|
Key tasks:
- Plan visits and appointments sensibly in order to maximise use of time and fuel efficiency.
- Complete daily sales reports and management information indicating daily activities.
- Ensure all territorial accounts receive visits at regular intervals to maximise sales and resolve any problems that may occur.
- Either from cold calling or provided leads constantly seek out new sales business in a professional and efficient manner.
- Ensure all feedback received during visits is immediately assed to the appropriate department using agreed company procedures and documentation. Retain ownership of all problems and ensure they are resolved quickly and efficiently. Escalate problems as may be necessary in order to achieve results.
- Work as an external sales team member and ambassador for the company.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the procedures laid down in the company BSI-ISO 9002 manual.
- Prepare quotations.
